A hard-playing freshman hockey team upset a rough sextet from Boston University, 8 to 5, Saturday, in a heated contest at Watson Rink.

Elmer Walls, a Yardling defenseman, was the outstanding player of the afternoon, scoring four of his team's eight goals and helping to break up the frequent Terrier attacks into Crimson territory. Ken Woodworth, Mel Hodder, Dick Kalil, and Mike Graney each registered one goal for the freshmen.

B.U.'s all-Canadian line, led by center Bob Marquis, who scored three goals and made one assist, was severely handicapped by eight Terrier penalties. The Yardlings' well-coordinated offense kept the puck on B.U. ice for most of the game, and goalie Jack Page skillfully protected the Crimson lead.

The Terriers had scored 23 goals in their first two games of the season, beating Northeastern last week, 15 to 3.

The freshman squad on Friday elected linemen Bruce Gillie, of Lionel Hall and Williams, Minn., and Dick Kalil, of Grays Hall and Cornwall, Ont., Canada, as co-captains of the team.

Gillie played for three years on the Williams High School hockey team and was captain in his senior year. Kalil played on the squad at Cornwall Collegiate Vocational School for years.
