An unidentified man drowned in the Charles River yesterday despite Patrolman William J. Roy of the Metropolitan District Commission. Roy jumped from the Weeks Bridge in a vain attempt to save him. Patrolman James Murphy aided in the attempt. The drowned man was reported to the M.D.C. by a passer-by.
