The varsity rifle team evened its season's record at two wins and two losses Saturday when it dropped a close match to Boston University, 1368 to 1355. Crimson captain Dick Lipman was high scorer in the contest with 279.
Other Crimson qualifiers included John Liebeskin and Bill Garrison with 272; Andy Warshaw, 269; and Ron Grimm with a 263.
In other matches this year, the rifle team has beaten Worcester Polytechnical Institute and Boston College, losing to the University of Connecticut.
Last week the freshman team opened its season with a sound 918 to 884 victory over Andover. The newly-elected co-captains of the team, Ron Simmon and Dick Murphy, were the two top scorers.
