A $259,000 grant to the University from the National Science Foundation will allow 45 high school teachers to study here next year in an effort to strengthen the teaching of science in the secondary schools.
Francis Keppel '38, Dean of the Graduate School of Education will head the program. Participants will take courses in the sciences and in education during the year. Fifteen other colleges and universities have received grants and a total of 750 teachers will take part in the nation-wide program.
