The Crimson varsity lacrosse team will try to upset a powerful Yale squad tomorrow at 3 p.m. on home grounds. Last year the Elis engulfed the strongest Crimson ten in several years, 9 to 8. Yale has grown stronger since then; the Crimson has weakened.

Yale has compiled a seasonal record of ten wins and two losses, one to a strong Hofstra team and one to Princeton, 7 to 6. The varsity has won four, tied one, and lost ten.

The Crimson lost to Princeton on its spring trip, 21 to 8. The varsity has also lost to Dartmouth, 16 to 9, and Cornell, 13 to 9. Yale ran away from the Big Red with a 13 to 8 score, and defeated Dartmouth, 8 to 7.

But comparative scores can never tell the whole story. The Crimson squad has improved to a startling degree, and is beginning to show signs of real strength. Then too, the Elis will be without their star attackman, Bruce Lloyd, who was averaging five goals a game until mid-season, when he was declared ineligible under Ivy League rules because he was in his ninth term at Yale.

However, the Crimson is still plagued with a tendency to grow sloppy in its play. Yesterday in a scrimmage, the freshmen were able to hold the obviously superior varsity to a one point lead at the end of five quarters. The unofficial tally stood at 6 to 5.

Captain Dexter Lewis may not play tomorrow, due to a pulled leg muscle. Tentatively, the starting attack will include Larry Coburn, Don Dawidoff, and Albie Wells. Leo Daley, Gibson Gerry, and Fred Sharf will start on defense, while Mike Durham, Jim Gale, and Mike Holmes are scheduled to open midfield play. John Ogden will tend the goal.

The freshmen will meet an Eli squad tomorrow at 3 p.m.
