The School of Dental Medicine is now affiliated with the Forsyth Dental Infirmary for children, according to a joint statement issued by Roy O. Greep, dean of the Dental School, and Howard M. Marjerison, director of the Forsyth Infirmary.
"Affiliation with Forsyth will greatly strengthen the school's teaching and research program," Greep said. "The experience to be gained from contact with more than 6000 patients each year at Forsyth will provide students with a broader understanding of human biology and will add breath and depth to the school's curriculum."
Clinical work at Forsyth will be under the supervision of the infirmary staff, Greep said, but students at the University will continue to receive the major part of their clinical training in the school's own dental clinic, at Massachusetts General Hospital, and at the Children's Medical Center.
