The new bell-ringing mechanism in Memorial Church is scheduled for its first thunderous test run next Monday, the Department of Buildings and Grounds warned yesterday.
George A. Buttrick, preacher to the University, suggested that students still in the Cambridge area desert the Yard for the trial ringing but feared that it may "have the whole Square by the cars," anyway.
