Police to Tag Cars Left Over Vacation

Police Chief Patrick F. Ready yesterday threatened students who leave their cars on the Cambridge streets over the vacation with possible fines up to $16 if the cars become a "highway obstruction."

The Cambridge Traffic Bureau's policy calls for two parking violation tickets for overnight parking before the automobile may be towed away. Violators detected during the vacation week will be charged the usual $5 towing charge plus a daily $1 storage fee.

The University Police office said it will fellow its customary parking violation policy.
