The University received $4,531,000 in gifts during the second quarter of the 1954-55 fiscal year, it was announced yesterday.

Nine-tenths of the $2,553,236 in capital gifts was in the form of restricted funds given to endow existing enterprises. Less than one-tenth was unrestricted.

A capital gift of $50,666 to establish a memorial fund for Reginald Fincke, Jr. '82, who was killed in action on Okinawa May 15, 1945, is among the gifts previously unannounced.

Contributions for current use in research, and for financial aid to students, totaled $1,977,764. The Rockefeller Foundation, Harvard Law School Fund, and the American Cancer society were among the donors.
