The freshman hockey team extended its streak, and the track team had a longer streak snapped, as three Yardling squads met prep schools on saturday.
With Captain Bob McVey and Lyle Guttu each notting two goals, and Bob Cleary getting credit for four assists, the hockey team downed St. Paul's School, 5-2, to remain undefeated after eight games. The fifth goal was scored by Ed Harding.
Losing its first meet, indoor or outdoor, in the last three years, the track squad was upset by Exeter, 54-36. Dave Gately of the winners piled up 18 points, the margin of victory.
The freshman fencers lost to Bopkins Grammar of New Haven, 16-11, in their first match of the season.
