Brattle Theater Has To Withdraw Movie At Sunday Showings

With State Supreme Court action still pending on its case to test the constitutionality of the Massachusetts Sunday censorship laws, the Brattle Theater announced yesterday that it has been refused a license to show the German movie "Desires" tomorrow.

Two Movies, "Public Enemy Number One" and "Little Caesar" have been rescheduled for tomorrow's performances.

"Desires" deals with the dope addiction of a ballerina. Raymond Marr, the Acting State Censor who refused the Sunday license for the film, said yesterday that it had always been the policy of the Sunday Censorship Bureau "to refuse a license to any movie dealing with habit-forming drugs."
