PBH Drive Lags Behind '54 Total

The Phillips House Fall blood drive enters its last day today, with the total number of contributions for the first four days about 100 pints behind last year's corresponding total.

The Red Cross collected 169 pints at Memorial Hall yesterday, out of 249 pledged. This brings the total number of donations to 767, whereas 1169 pledges had been scheduled.

A breakdown of the donations to 4 p.m. yesterday showed that Harvard undergraduates had given 480 pints, graduate students 89, Radcliffe students 83, and Faculty 16.

J. Phillip DeCaro '57, co-chairman of the drive, said that prospective donors will be welcome any time today and need not have made a pledge. The Red Cross will be in Memorial Hall from 11.45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Of the 2000 students who originally gave pledges, more than 600 who were under 21 were unable to contribute because of failure to receive parental permission.
