The Gardner Club will meet the Scott Club in the sem-final round of the Law School Ames Competition at 8 p.m. tonight in Austin Hall. The winners of this trial and Wednesday's other semi-final case will argue in the spring for the Ames prize.
Robert S. Jones and Curtis W. Poole, Jr. will present Gardner's oral arguments for the plaintiffs, while Richard F. Newell and Hal F. Reynolds will plead for the defendants.
The plaintiffs in the case are Negro workers who have brought action to enjoin the defendant corporation from discriminating at its housing development, and to prohibit the defendant Federal agencies, the FBA ad VA, from guaranteeing purchase mortgages in the project as long as the discrimination continues.
