Democrats Will Hold Mock '56 Convention, HYDC Leader States

The Harvard Young Democratic Club will "in all probability" hold a mock political convention in the late spring, according to newly elected president Charles Edson '56. He said that the convention is a sign of the vitality of the HYDC, now the largest political organization in the College.

"I regard this as a pledge to the membership," Edson added. He included this pledge as part of a platform which gained him the presidency of the organization at Wednesday night's elections.

Plans for the mock convention, the first in HYDC history, are incomplete to date, he continued, but a "leading Democratic figure" will keynote the meeting. Edson said he was sure the three-way fight between supporters of Harriman, Kefauver, and Stevenson would create great interest.
