Incidental Intelligence: Radcliffe Athletic Department insists that all girls swim 76 yards and remain afloat an additional two minutes before receiving their diplomas. The Harvard Athletic Department requires only 50 yards and no additional minutes.
Said Hal Ulen, varsity coach, "Fifty yards is sufficient to tell whether or not a boy can stay above water. They always do things differently up there. They even judge swimming meets on form."
