Rittenburg, Siler Lead Track, Field

Captain-elect Bob Rittenburg and Art Siler collected all the varsity's five points in Saturday's ICIA truck and field meet in New York. Penn State was the winner of the meet, dethroning second-place finisher Manhattan College.

Rittenburg, out most of the year with an injured foot, finished fifth in the 120-yard high hurdles, and fourth in the broad jump. Siler placed fourth in the discus throw.

In Friday's trials, the varsity qualified men in three additional events, but none of them placed.

Rittenburg had qualified for the 220 low hurdles, but missed out in the semifinals. Peter Dow, a point-winner a year ago, also qualified in the 100 and 220 yard dashes, and failed in the semi-finals.

Yale, which won the indoor IC4A meet and both the indoor and outdoor Heptagonal championships earlier this year, finished third behind Manhattan Saturday.
