Clearing weather is forecast for this afternoon's Yardling baseball game against Northeastern's mediocre freshman nine at Brookline. Sidearm specialist Don Repetto is slated to pitch for the Crimson. Gametime is 4 p.m.
With three changes in their lineup, the Yardlings will be after their fifth win this spring. At second base, sharp-fielding Don Erickson will replace Bob Hastings who is out with an infected foot.
In center field, Lou Lowenfels, who saved last Saturday's game for the Crimson in the ninth inning against Andover, will start for Dick Fisher, and at third John Kanneglesser will substitute for Bob Barnett.
Captain John "Babe" Simourian, the squad's hardest hitter, will be at first. Hustling Matt Botsford, who collected five hits in his first twelve times at bat, will be at short, with lanky (6'4") Phil Haughey behind the plate. Also a likely prospect for the catching position is stocky Winnie Sargeant, former captain from Milton Academy.
Big Don Nickerson, a converted first baseman, will patrol in right with hefty Tony Markella playing in left.
Possible pitching substitutes are Bob "Stuffy" McGinnis, who has helped considerably as a reliefer this season, and John Kolsti, former GBI League star.
The squad's only loss came at the hands of a strong Holy Cross nine last Thursday, 7 to 5, as the Yardlings were unable to push across the winning runs with the bases loaded in the ninth.
