Freshmen yesterday elected three from their class to represent them on the Student Council for the 1954 fall term. A small turnout of 675 voted in the Union and in Dudley.
Those elected are Paul L. Scher of Thayer South and Glencoe, III.; William R. Shane of Thayer South, and Indiana, Pa.; and Richard Williams of Matthews South and Wilmington, Del.
This is the second time that three freshmen have been elected to the Council. A trial plan was inaugurated last year to elect three instead of the usual two representatives. An amendment to the Council constitution would have to be ratified by two-thirds of the student body to make the plan permanent.
