Freshman Track Team Triumphs Over Tufts

Phil Williams, the best mile prospect the Crimson has had in recent years, broke his own freshman mark for that event yesterday with a 4:22.2 time. This eclipses his time of 4:27.1 set earlier this spring.

The Yardlings, themselves, had no trouble winning their meet, 107 1/3 to 32 2/3, over Tufts, at Soldiers Field.

Other winners for Coach Al Wilson were Joel Cohen, 120 high and 220 low hurdles; Warren Plath, broad jump; Ron Eikenberry, 100 and 220 yard dashes; Dick Wharton, half mile (1:59.8); Tony Giannelly, discus and shot put; Pete Harpel, hammer throw; Frank Weller and Hank Moore, high jump.
