It's Yale against the field in the three-day New England Tennis Intercollegiates beginning in Hanover, N.H., this afternoon. Crimson Coach Jack Barnaby is entering his first and second singles men Ham Gravem and Brooks Harris plus two returning lettermen who are not in the top 12 this spring--Dan Mayers and Mike Levinson.
Barnaby believes that Gravem "can play with almost anybody but Bill Cranston of Yale." The Elis are also favored in the doubles; the Crimson's first combination is not competing.
In tennis action yesterday, the Yardlings swept through Brown, 9 to 0, with the loss of only one set. Tomorrow, the freshman B team wil take on Tabor at Marion.
