Rinehart and Wintergreen Quintets Meet in Inter-House All-Star Game

Rinehart and Wintergreen all-star basketball squads meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the Blockhouse following the varsity game with Penn. Adolph W. Samborski '25, Director of Intramural Athletics, announceed the all-star selections for the two squads last night.

Inter-House champion Leverett with a 12 and 2 record dominates the Rinehart group with four players on the squad. They are: key playmaker Don Mayers, center, Lou Mengoli, left forward, Lee Hurd, right forward, and right guard Paul Donovan.

Kirkland has three representatives: left forward Red Brennan; Joe Green, holder of the league's scoring average with 17 points per game; and Neil Borts in the left guard slot. Three members were also selected from Lowell: right guard Larry Corser; center Cliff Alexander; ander; left guard Roger Golde.

Runner-up in the inter-House league, Dunster with an 11 and 3 record put five men on the all-star Wintergreen squad: pivot Burt Berson, left guard Ron Peyton; and forwards Jim Wade, Jim Jones, and Jim Downey.

Winthrop also has five men. Dave Bodiker and Bill Riggs were both nominated for right forward, while teammates Rudy Phillips, George Doyle, and George Sheinberg, were chosen for center, right guard, and left guard positions, respectively.

None From Adams, Dudley

Nomination of Eliot's Lew Goetz as left forward rounds out the Wintergreens contingent. Adams and Dudley did not place any men on the all-star squads.

Over the season Leverett displayed a better man-to-man type game, which helped it take the close contests. On the strength of superior team play, should the Bunnies' representatives play together, they will rule a slight favorite over the wintergreens.

Rineharts are composed of a permanent group of which Dudley, Leverett, Kirkland, and Lowell are members; while Adams, Dunster, Eliot, and Winthrop make up the Wintergreens group.
