Man, the sickle-drivers were dragging for beers in Cronin's last night. The weather was clear and the track was fast in Jim's Place, at 11:45 p.m. when two undergraduates arrived for last call on a Harley-Davison.
The wild Ones cleared the juke box easily and were in the South stretch aimed for the bar when the track became cluttered with wildly cheering students and dates. The cyclists backed smoothly out of the blockade and were careening down the center single at two m.p.m. when Jim showed up. The cycle then took off towards the Wursthaus.
