Cornell won its first Ivy League title in 30 years last night with a final second 46 to 44 victory over Princeton. Henry Buncom, a substitute forward, scored the winning basket. It was his first score of the evening.
Cornell, led by Leo Morton's 22 points, had a 34-28 lead entering the fourth quarter. But Princeton, led by center Dick Batt, Came back to take a 39-38 advantage until the last moment.
The win put the Ithacans into the NCAA eastern regionals. They meet a strong Navy squad Friday night.
