JV Six Wins, 9-7, Over Holy Cross

Dick Allen scored three goals last night as the J.V. hockey team battered its way to a 9 to 7 victory over an inferior Holy Cross sextet on the new rink.

It was the team's second game of the season. Last week it defeated the same opponent at Worcester, 9 to 2.

The Crimson opened the game in good form and jumped to a 6 to 2 lead over its unskilled opposition. However, in the following periods the playing became ragged and the game developed into a high-scoring free-for-all.

Andover Game Cancelled

Besides Allen, offensive stars for the J.V.'s were Pete Frye and Fred Pratt with two goals each and Ralph Beckett and Winkle Childs who each netted one tally.

At Andover, warm weather forced the cancellation of the game between the Yardling sextet and Phillips Academy yesterday. The freshmen's next game is scheduled for this Saturday against a mediocre Green six at Hanover, N.H. The Yardlings have a season's record of seven wins and three losses.
