The varsity wrestling team travels south over the weekend, wrapped in tape but poised to end its three game losing streak this afternoon against Pennsylvania. Monday the Crimson grapples for a corner of the Big Three Ivy wrestling title against Princeton.
Though four varsity grapplers have minor injuries, the squad will be in top form against the medium-rare Quakers who ought to be a preliminary warm-up for Princeton. A win over Pennsylvania would boost the Crimson's chances against Princeton, since the Quakers and Tigers fought to a tie earlier in the season.
The varsity is in much improved shape with the return of Ed Keating.
Princeton looms as the tougher of the two teams. Based on the power of its heavyweights, 177 pound Carleton MacDonald and undefeated Jim MacAleer, the Tiger figures to cop two key matches and possibly a third--the 157 pound duel between Captain Chick Chandler and Don Rumsfield, who beat Chandler last year.
The undefeated Yardling squad sports a string of five consecutive wins when it meets Andover at 2 p.m. this afternoon at Andover.
