Radcliffe has responded "with astonishing interest" to the poll which the News began Friday to determine student opinion on the honor system, Mary Ellen Reinert '54, former editor of the paper, said last night.

The poll consists of six questions about the students' attitudes towards cheating and the reporting of offenders. The first two ask whether the student has seen or heard of cheating.

The third and fourth, concerned with the student's personal feelings toward the honor system, ask if she would request a girl who is cheating to report herself, or if she would report the offender herself. The continuation of exams under the honor system and recommended changes are the subjects of the last two questions.

Although the questionnaire is not authorized by the special student council committee to investigate the honor system, Phyllis LaFarge '55, a member of the group, called it useful in "giving us concrete evidence of student opinion." She expects the committee to consider the results of the poll carefully.

One of the reasons for the News Poll, said Miss Reinert, is to get the opinions of all the students, since the committee could give the opinion of only a fraction.
