The 107th Hasty Pudding Show may finish its annual tour with a one-night stand in New York City Dec. 23, if negotiations with the Stage Employees' Union prove successful, Walter D. Littell '55, president of the Club's theatricals, announced last night.
It had been previously announced that the Pudding planned to eliminate New York entirely from its tour. Littell explained last night that two years of trouble with non-union halls in New York had forced the decision. Most downtown halls employ union labor.
Budget Not Sufficient
The 1952 production, which played, at the Barbizon Theatre, was picketed by members of the AFL Musicians' Union and the Stage Employees' Union. A two-night stand last year in Bronx school auditorium did not bring pickets, but failed to fill the house.
Pudding shows have avoided unionized theaters, Littell said, because the stage Employees' Union requires a show to hire union stage hands and a supervisor.
