A committee of the Phillips Brooks House Association cabinet yesterday recommended that the Graduate Secretary retain his vote in the cabinet but lost his position as an executive.
Cabinet members decided to maintain the Graduate Secretary's voting power because of his close connection with the organization and his familiarity with its problems.
The committee did not have time to discuss a proposal to deprive the Secretary of his duties as treasurer.
These amendments to the constitution have been advocated by Douglas W. Hunt '55, president of the Association, and Cornelius deWitt Hastie '52, the present Graduate Secretary. Both feel that since the Graduate Secretary is an officer of the University, he should not hold office in an undergraduate organizations.
