In a surprise move last night, the Student Council announced it would reconsider its pre-vacation decision to re-run Junior Class Council elections.
President Paul D. Sheats '54 indicated that the Council's decision to reconsider was due to "newly found evidence."
The Committee meets this afternoon to decide whether to reverse fields again on the election.
The whole issue came up after the election of Dec. 17 and 18, when Harold F. Levy '55 of Adams House, who was narrowly defeated, protested that the basketball team, which was playing Cornell at Ithaca the night of the election, had not been allowed to vote.
Levy also pointed to the meager returns of the election, in which only 50 per cent of the junior class had participated, as being definite evidence of the inadequate advertising of the election by the proper Council authorities.
On the basis of these and other charges, the Council announced on Dec. 18 that the entire elections would be reheld and had already placed posters in all College entries when the decision to reconsider was made last night.
