Cabot Head Resident Frances M. Gerrish received expressions of appreciation and gratitude from over 200 present and former residents of Cabot, in ceremonies yesterday.
Miss Gerrish was also presented with a check for $500 on the occasion of her retirement from the post she has held for the past eight years.
Before she came to Radcliffe in 1945, Miss Gerrish worked in the theatre and radio. During World War I she directed the Stage Women's Relief Service, and after the war, she was understudy of Emily Stevens on Broadway.
During the '30s she served in the administration of Actors Equity, leaving that job to direct dramatic productions at Barnard College, a post she held for nine years.
Miss Gerrish has also directed the Radcliffe Summer Secretarial School, and from 1946-49 she served as Directed of Residents.
