Light, Slight Sportswear Needed For Use on Balmier Boston Days

"They stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours."

Old Testament: Genesis, xxxvii, 23

And, it being summer in Cambridge, Joseph minded not a bit. For when the humidity and the mercury begin waging their battle for prominence here in Boston, even cord jackets become superfluous. Attractive sporting clothes are then required--but they must be comfortable at the same time.

Of course, for pure comfort, the bathing suit and a broad expanse of ocean will never be superceded. For a more practical substitute, bermuda shorts--for male or female--will always do. They come in cool materials like denim or cotton khaki.

In shirts, try the standard jersey or polo shirt, or perhaps even a terrycloth sweater, ideal for beach-wear, since it can double for a towel. As for shoes, go barefoot, if possible, and if not, try tennis shoes.
