A powerful Crimson golf seven stroked to its sixth consecutive win yesterday afternoon, dropping Amherst 5 to 2, on the loser's course at South Hadley.

Medalist honors for the 18 hole, par 72 links, went to the Crimson's top player, Ted Cooney, who turned in a 74 card. He won medalist title earlier in the week against Brown. Cooney dropped his Lord Jeff opponent, Keith Redner, 2 up.

Number two Crimson golfer, Bruce Thurmond, fell before the 2-0 golf of Al Allen. Only other local player to lose was Pete Malkin, playing in the five spot. He lost to Dave Simpson, 3-2.

Jack Brophy, at three on the Harvard ladder, out stroked Fred Moore to win by the score of 2-1. Captain Dave Hedberg outdid his Amherst partner, 4-2. Jim Jones for the Crimson, playing in six position, turned in top-notch golf, defeating Mack Purdy of the Lord Jeffs, 2-up. Seven man Doub Boyd defeated Dick Williams, 2-0.

Predictions for rainy weather proved unfounded and the course was in excellent condition for yesterday's match. Rain and wind had cut into scores of the team during the past two games. The varsity golf team will face Dartmouth this Saturday in a match scheduled to be played at the Dedham Country Club.
