Fools' Week got off to a crashing start yesterday, and the funnymen's first victim was John P. Coolidge '35, Director of Fogg Museum.
About noon, the sound of shattering pottery, mixed with cries of "Get him--he did it," brought Coolidge out of his office. He found the remnants of a vase splattered over the floor of Fogg's courtyard.
Attendants immediately blocked off all exits and tried to discover which of the museum's collection of valuable ancient vases had been thrown from the balcony of the court.
The search ended a few minutes later when Coolidge noticed the phrase "Made in Japan" stenciled on one of the potsherds. The culprit escaped.
