On the House

Lowell opened its House baseball season yesterday and squeezed through to a 12 to 10 victory over Leverett. The Lowell softball team suffered a 12 to 0 loss to the Bunnies.

Dudley and Dunster also split in the two sports. Dudley won in baseball, 7 to 6, but Dunster scored a 24 to 7 softball victory. The Funsters also triumphed in tennis, blanking Dudley 7 to 0.

On Tuesday, Winthrop defeated Adams in both baseball and softball, 17 to 16, and 4 to 1. The Puritans pulled from behind in the last inning of the baseball game, scoring seven runs in the last inning to walk off with the victory.

Kirkland Wins Three

Also on Tuesday, Kirkland topped Eliot in both baseball and softball, 9 to 8, and 16 to 13. Eliot returned to whip Winthrop in tennis, 7 to 0, and Kirkland trimmed the Lowell tennis team four games to three.

In Tuesday's golf, Dunster beat Lowell, and Kirkland topped Leverett, both by 5 to 0 scores. Dudley clipped Winthrop, 4 to 1, and Eliot outscored Adams, 3 1/2 games to 1 1/2.

Kirkland House faces Adams at 3 p.m. today in baseball, and in softball at 4 p.m., on the Soldiers Field diamonds. Also scheduled are Dudley and Lowell in softball at 2:30 p.m.

On the tennis courts, Dudley faces Adams at 3 p.m. and Dunster meets Winthrop House at 4:30.

All eight House golf teams play at 2 p.m. this afternoon. Lowell meets Dudley, Leverett faces Dunster, Adams plays Kirkland, and Winthrop meets Eliot.
