Eliot, Dunster, and Kirkland lead the teams competing for the Straus Trophy.
Eliot, with 1,005 points, heads the standings just ahead of Dunster with 997 1/2. Kirkland controls third place with a total of 1940.
Straus Trophy scoring provides 150 points for a team that wins first place in any major sport, 115 for minor sports, and 40 for tournament winners. Eliot has already won swimming, football, cross country, wrestling, hockey and fencing.
The Elephants finished their volley ball season yesterday tied for sixth place with Lowell, after dropping two out of three games to the Bellboys, 8-15, 15-10, and 15-12. Winthrop also won two from Dudley, 15-8 and 15-1. Dunster won first place in the league with a 7-0 record.
