Plans for tomorrow's helicopter arrival of Magda Gabor, the "beautiful recluse," crystallized yesterday as the Metropolitan District Commission authorized a landing on the Charles River banks near Leverett House, Blood Drive Publicity Director Erik Amfitheatrof '54 announced last night.

Cambridge City Manager John Curry had previously stopped plans for a descent into the Common, but the helicopter's pilot, Air Force Captain Charles Johnson, stated yesterday "the river bank is a better landing area in terms of safety and facility of approach."

Alan I. W. Frank '54, co-chairman of the drive, said last night that Miss Gabor is due over Cambridge at approximately 2 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. The Air Force helicopter will circle the University once before depositing the Hungarian celebrity on the spot indicated on the map by a cross. There will be a short ceremony at the river bank before Miss Gabor proceeds to a hospital for the donation.

Metropolitan police will rope-off the area tomorrow morning for greater safety, since blood officials anticipate a large crowd of Cambridge children.

The helicopter's 15-minute airborne flight will follow the Charles River from Boston Harbor, Captain Johnson stated yesterday, because of a Civil Aeronanties Association ruling which prescribes a 3000-foot-minimum ceiling over congested areas.

Meanwhile, co-chairman D. Lawrence Corser '54 announced that the entire varsity heavy crew had pledged pints.

The total pledges amount to 3,304 today. Lowell House was highest with 885 pledges, while Cabot Hall led at Radcliffe.
