B.U. Gives '56 Six First Defeat, 3-2

Boston University's freshman hockey team ended the Yardlings' hopes for an undefeated season Saturday, winning 3 to 2, and spoiling a 13-game Crimson wining streak.

The Terriers, supposedly weakened by scholastic ineligibilities, played brilliant defensive hockey, holding the high-scoring freshman first line to only one goal. That score came on a pass from Captain Bill Cleary to right wing Art Noyes at 12:15 of the first period, and put the Yardlings momentarily ahead, 2 to 1.

But B.U. scored twice more against Myles Huntington's squad, while its second-string goalie, Eddie Kerr, shut out the Yardlings for the last two periods.

Dick Allen, assisted by Albie Wells, also scored for the Crimson in the first period.
