Lowell, Dunster, and Winthrop moved ahead in the houses' A League basketball last night. The Bellboys won comfortably over Adams by 50 to 41, and Dunster drubbed the Elephants 43 to 29. Winthrop and Leverett kept it close all the way through, but the Puritans went into the last two minutes with a three point lead and stayed on top-to win 30 to 28.
Dudley and Kirkland, Winthrop and Lowell, and Dunster and Adams pair off tonight on the top floor of the Indoor Athletic Building for another round in both A and B League tilts. With three weeks to go, no team has an edge.
Kirkland Squash Advances
The Kirkland racquet squad pulled even with Adams in the A League squash race yesterday as they whipped Winthrop. The Deacons won a decisive 5 to 0 victory, while first-place Adams lost to Eliot 3 to 2. The Gold Coasters and Deacons have ten wins apiece. Dunster follows in second place with seven, and Leverett in third with six.
Deacons Win Again
With the return of ice, Kirkland's hockey team also scored a win over Adams yesterday to grab second place in the House hockey standings. Dudley and Winthrop, third and fourth in the loop, meet tomorrow at the Boston Skating Club, and if ice time is available, first place Eliot will clash with Adams on Thursday.
With little over a month left, and prospects of ice uncertain, Adams and Lowell share the cellar. All eight teams are scheduled to meet Feb. 11.
