After two years of planning, the Harvard Dramatic Club has decided to present Shakespeare's "Othello" as its major 1952-53 production.
The tragedy, two years in script revision, will open in Sanders Theatre on April 14 for a run of at least ten days, an H.D.C. spokesman said yesterday.
casting for the production will take place this week. Ian W. Cadenhead '53 of Lowell House, president of the H.D.C. will probably produce the play. Former president Francis J. O'Neil '53 of Leverett will direct it.
"This play's got everything from sex to real dramatic qualities, and will appeal to everybody from the intellectual English major to the average freshman," the spokesman added.
Dramatic Club members have spent two years touching up Shakespeare's dialogue and planning original scenery angles.
