Swimmers from Eliot, Adams, and Kirkland moved into a three-way tie for the House league lead as the Elephants scored a double victory over Kirkland and Winthrop while Adams was spilling Leverett, 23 to 20.

Eliot sank Kirkland after the Deacons had posted a 39 to 8 win against Winthrop. The Elephants also defeated Winthrop by 38 to 10 in spite of the record-breaking performance of Puritan Edward Ginsberg '55 in the 50-yard breaststroke event. Ginsberg's time was 29.6 seconds.

Adams downed Leverett swimmers, 28 to 20, while Lowell was being beaten, 43 to 5, by the Commuters. The Bellboys were then overwhelmed 44-1 by Dunster, who went on to defeat Dudley, 36 to 12.

In A league squash, Kirkland topped Winthrop, 4-1 and is currently holding the league leadership by three games over Eliot, which captured a 3-2 verdict over Adams in a hard fought contest.

The Adams five defeated a Lowell quintet, 28-27, in the afternon B League competition, only to see Lowell reverse the decision, in the evening's A League contest, 43 to 35.

Yesterday morning, the Adams hockey team defeated Dudley, 3 to 1.

Freshman competition featured a "World Series" basketball game between Hollis and Holworthy, representing the American and National League respectively. Hollis won 34 to 31.

Matthews South, first half champions, will oppose Hollis for the year's Yard championship.
