E. E. Cummings Opens Second Norton Series

E. E. Cummings '15 delivers his fourth Charles Eliot Norton Lecture tonight in Sanders Theatre at 8 p.m.

Open to the public, the lecture entitled, "I and you and us" begins the second series of the 1952-53 lectures.

Cummings, Charles Eliot Norton Professor of Poetry for the current academic year, will follow with "i and now and him" on March 2 and "i and him and Santa Claus" on March 16.

Author of nine volumes of poetry since 1923, the poet and playwright follows Aaron Copeland, who recently had a composition banned from the presidential inauguration ceremonies.

Fall lectures by Cummings consisted of half hour talks followed by reading of poems, including his own. His first lectures were entitled, "i and my parents," "i and their son," and "i and self-discovery."
