Three teams tied for second place in A League squash yesterday when Eliot lost to first place Kirkland, 2 to 3, but moved into second place just the same.
By virtue of its 3 to 2 defeat over Lowoll, the Leverett Bunnies also slid into a second place tie with Adams and Eliot. Winthrop's squash contingent dropped even further in the cellar, losing yesterday to third place Dunster, 4 to 1.
Kirkland Edges Adams
An under manned Adams basketball team failed last night in its last minute bid to overcome Kirkland's seven point lead, cutting the gap to only one point, but losing in the end, 41 to 40. John Fidler '55 copped scoring honors with 18 points.
Earlier, Leverett's Bucky O'Connor '53 led his team to a 38 to 30 win over Dunster, scoring 13 points himself. The Kirkland five, paced by the 12 points of John Green '55, thrashed Adams 44 to 25 in an a League contest.
Bunnies Win on Ice
On the ice, Leverett's hockey team whitewashed the Kirkland sextet, 3 to 0, with Hank McCusker '53 scoring two goals, and Charlie Webb '54, the other.
Freshman basketball moves into second gear this week with Holworthy leading the National League, undefeated in four games. Grays follows with no losses in three games. Hollis tops the American League with a 4 and 0 record.
