HUERA to Pick First New Head in Decade

Maids and janitors go through the motions of electing the first new president of the HUERA in 12 years today.

Unopposed for the presidency is novice politician Elwyn Wyman, janitor in Burr Lecture Hall. As new head of the Harvard University Employees Representative Association, he will lead maids and janitors in all wage and benefit disputes with-the University.

Chances for a disputed election died two weeks ago when 12 year president Daniel G. Mulvihill announced "I do not choose to run." At that time he made it clear he did not agree with the policies advocated by the "younger" men who are backing Wyman.

Wyman, 51 years old, has refused to discuss any policy plans until he is officially "in." But HUERA members say he has promised reduction of union dues as a starter.
