One sophomore and seven juniors gained House representative posts on the 1954-55 Student Council after elections in the Houses yesterday.

A field of 33 candidates competed for the positions on the new council and one was elected from each House. The turnout is believed to be the largest in recent years.

The one sophomore elected is Roger C. Ravel of Kirkland. The other members-elect, all juniors, are: Arthur Tallas, Dudley; Geoffrey N. Ball, Dunster; William E. Bridges, Eliot; Paul Donovan, Leverett; Garr Cranney, Lowell; Stephen L. Reynolds, Winthrop and Joseph D. Murphy of Adams.

Class Petitions Due

Petitions for a second election, for class representation to the Council, are due tomorrow at 5 p.m., in the Student Council office at Phillips Brooks House, Treasurer Clifford L. Alexander, Jr. '55 said last night.

Three members will be elected from each of the Classes of 1955 and 1956, and they will serve for a full year.

Petitions must include 25 signatures from members of the candidate's class, a picture and personal history, he added. There is a $10 maximum for campaign materials again this year. This includes posters, which are also limited in size, duplicated letters, etc.
