Princeton football coach Charlie Caldwell has named two members of the Crimson varsity, center Jeff Coolidge and full-back John Culver to his all-opponent eleven.
Yale and Dartmouth also qualified two players, while Cornell led with three nominees. Brown had one, as did Navy, which handed the Tigers a 65 to 7 licking, the most humiliating in 85 years of Princeton football.
Against Caldwell's team, Culver was called on to do the bulk of the rushing since Captain Dick Clasby was unable to play. The big Crimson fullback carried 22 times for a four-yard average, outgunning Homer Smith, whom Caldwell calls "one of the best players I've ever coached."
Coolidge Injury
Coolidge, who earlier this week was voted the most valuable player on the squad by his teammates, suffered a knee injury in the Princeton game and was able to play only part of the second half.
The rest of Caldwell's selections included Dave McLaughlin, Dartmouth, and Stan Intihar, Cornell, ends; Parker Caswell, Dartmouth, and Thorne Shugart, Yale, tackles; Dick Polich, Yale, and Stan Tsapsis, Cornell, guards; and Dick Jackson of Cornell, Don Thompson of Brown, and George Welsh of Navy, backs.
