Richard Burgin, the new conductor of the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra, will lead the group in its annual Fall Concert tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. in Sanders Theatre. Mr. Burgin, who is also concertmaster and associate conductor of the Boston Symphony, will be making his first public appearance with the Orchestra.
The program will feature the "Third Symphony" by Randall Thompson, Walter Bigelow Rosen Professor of Music. This work was written in commemoration of those who died in World War II. Brahms' "Academic Festival Overture" will also be performed.
"The Orchestra is larger than at any time in recent years," Stuart Levino '54, president of the Pierian Sodality, commented, "and it is tremendously enthusiastic about playing under Mr. Burgin."
