Four C.C.A.-endorsed candidates won places on the Cambridge School Committee, final results of last week's election showed. Under the PR system, candidates must reach a quota of votes to be guaranteed a place on the Committee. Mrs. Pearl Wise, a C.C.A. candidate was the first person to make the quota.

Alfred Velluuchi, an Independent, was second with three C.C.A. men following: Paul Corcoran, Judson T. Shaplin, John J. Campbell. Sixth was Francis McCrehan who did not reach the quota but finished ahead of the other candidates. McCrehan is also an Independent.

One surprise in election results was the strong showing of Judson T. Shaplin '42. Shaplin, Director of Freshman Scholarships, had to fight his campaign over traditional town-gown feuds as well as current school issues. Shaplin had said before the election that he was running as an educator and not a politician.

Last night Shaplin reaffirmed his stand and attributed his victory to an intensive fight. "We ran a hard campaign, with an enthusiastic group of friends whose work paid off."

Shaplin added that with the predominance of C.C.A. candidates on the School Committee, the Association's program could be passed with little difficulty. Points in this program include removal of Committee affairs from politics and extensive construction of schools.
