The varsity soccer team lost to Wesleyan, 2 to 1, Saturday, perhaps losing at the same time the services of star center forward Marv Weiss.
Weiss was forced out of action for the entire second half of the game with a leg injury of as yet undetermined seriousness.
Flaher Scores Goal
Wesleyan got the first goal midway through the opening period. The score came after a boot in from the side when Alex Haegler and the man he was defending leaped in the air to head the ball. The opponent dazed Haegler by jerking back his head, and before Haegler could recover, the ball was in the cage.
The teams then fought on even terms until Wesleyan scored again in the last period, to take a 2 to 0 lead. Dick Fisher, subbing for the injured Stacy Holmes, got the only Crimson goal with six minutes to go.
The Crimson dominated the play for the remaining time, missing the tying goal on several occasions by inches. Haegler, who had moved into the center forward position, was robbed twice by the Wesleyan goalie.
