Lamont's ban on women will carry over to the new freshman study hall, Lamont Librarian Philip J. McNiff stated last night.
McNiff made the statement to clarify a misleading CRIMSON article quoting Radcliffe reactions to joint study in the Memorial Church basement.
The girls will continue to use the room from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. No men will be allowed in the hall during those hours.
Similarly, women will be banned during the freshman hours. These hours will be from 9:30 to midnight Monday through Friday, from 7 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, and on Sundays from 2 to 5:30 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. until midnight.
Hours Subject to Change
These hours will be subject to change if the Yardlings fail to make use of them.
The opening of a study hall in Lamont was a compromise move after a freshman committee requested leaving Lamont open until midnight.
