Student athletic representatives voted to change the 1952 eligibility ruling for intramural swimming at their meeting with intramural director Adolph Samborski '25 yesterday.
Under the new ruling anyone may swim for his House as long as he has not participated in an Ivy League swimming meet. This change reverts to the 1951 stand on swimming eligibility.
Any varsity swimmer could also compete for his House so long as he had not actually scored points in a League meet, according to last year's stand.
The rule is not expected to affect the number of men out for House swimming. It was made to clear up what seemed to be an inconsistency in the rules, the group said.
Samborski also announced that he had been unable to obtain ice for the final seven games late in the second half of the intramural hockey schedule. However, he does not feel that all chance of finding ice has been exhausted.
If no ice can be found, the second half of the hockey schedule will not be played. The teams in the upper and lower halves of the league at that time will split up and play a round robin among themselves. The winner of the upper half round robin will be declared, champion for the year in hockey. The Dunster hockey team shut out Winthrop 3 to 0 on the ice yesterday.
